VAHAN AROYAN WAS RELEASED FROM PRISON
Vahan Aroyan has been released from Nubarashen prison unexpectedly. According to the news release of the committee for Jirair Sefilyan and Vardan Malkhasyan, he was arrested in late 2006 in order to ascribe his collection of weapons belonging to him since the war and famous among the law enforcers to the organization led by Jirair Sefilyan, who was going to be accused of preparing a state coup, in accordance with the plot. In order to somehow involve Vahan Aroyan in Jirair Sefilyan’s case, the National Security Service held a special operation. Its agents put up an information leakage about the imminent arrest of Jirair Sefilyan, the addressee of which was Vahan Aroyan. They were sure that Jirair’s friend-in-arms would tell him the news, which would allow them to arrest Vahan Aroyan and discover an arsenal in his house as part of the case involving Jirair Sefilyan. This is what happened. However, the hopes of the tchekists did not come true, they were unable to force Vahan Aroyan to testify against Jirair Sefilyan, that is why the soldier who got innumerable injuries and awards in war, the voluntary border guard, got a disproportionate sentence, and served over 18 months in prison, the news release runs.
