WHEN STATE BUILDING FAILS, PAN-ARMENIAN PROJECTS ARE INVENTED
Perhaps the nation owes the person to whom the idea of the Pan-Armenian Bank first occurred. We can only imagine how many sleepless nights he spent in thoughts until he had the bright idea to set up a pan-Armenian bank. In fact, we will also owe to the government who set to create this bank. It became known a few days ago when the representatives of our financial world and the government once again gathered in Dilijan and spoke about future. It is even difficult to say whether the pan-Armenian bank is future or already present. It is also difficult to tell which number this pan-Armenian project is. There is a pan-Armenian foundation, there are pan-Armenian games, a pan-Armenian information network is under consideration. All together they make up the segments of the pan-Armenian world. An Armenian world the idea of which is intensively preached by the new prime minister Tigran Sargsyan. It may seem like an adventure to many but there is no need to panic. All through our history we have always set little against much. Little is our fate. Who knows, maybe if we had not battled with little, we would have been defeated, and our foes would have destroyed us. Simply they saw that we were little, they got self-confident, without thinking that our little is our weapon. Therefore, our prime minister is right when he says that our competitive advantage in the global world is the Armenian world. There is no need to fear that the global world will devour us. The so-called Armenian world is being set up to protect us from that. But what is that? What is the so-called Armenian world? It should be noted that almost nothing is known about it. Tigran Sargsyan who put to use that notion has never explained what an Armenian world is. Is it an abstract or a concrete notion? Does it have geographical borders or do its borders run along where there are Armenians? Does one need a visa to get there or an Armenian origin is enough? Or do those with an Armenian origin become a member of the Armenian world by a simplified procedure, and the aliens only if they are wanted by the police in the global world. There is too much uncertainty. Generally, if there is the Republic of Armenia, isn’t it meaningless to speak about an Armenian world? Our competitive advantage in the world could be the Republic of Armenia based on firm, powerful, modern values and the law where life would be attractive for citizens. It seems there can be no less simple and easy project than the Armenian state. When other organizations and structures are being considered, it is evidence that state building fails, and those pan-Armenian projects are invented, and the theoretical success of the Armenian world is trumpeted to distract the attention of the society from failure. The idea is instilled in the society that unless all the Armenians of the world come together and the potential of all the Armenians of world concentrates in one place and serves one goal, we will remain in the same state that we are now and will not be competitive. But there will always be an Armenian in the world who will escape this pan-Armenian vision which is tied around the neck of the citizens of the Republic of Armenia like a rope and is tightened day by day. Afterwards the Armenian earth will be considered, and afterwards the Armenian universe. As much as possible, as pompously as possible, as long as possible to get the society obsessed with that idea and not to offer trifling demands to the government such as the Armenian state and the trifling issues it faces, such as legality, human rights, civil freedoms.
