AUDIT CHAMBER NOTICED IRREGULARITIES
The audit chamber of Armenia has revealed some drawbacks in the performance of the state budget 2007, about which the president of the chamber Ishkhan Zakaryan stated May 12, ARKA reports. “Over the recent years positive attainments were reported in Armenia. On the whole, we assess the performance of the state budget as positive but at the same time we note some drawbacks which refer to the legislative reforms and the issue of public purchase,” Ishkhan Zakaryan said. According to him, the main drawbacks revealed by the chamber relate to public purchases, for which 193 billion drams were provided in 2007. The president of the audit chamber said they were not able to present a detailed report because the agency for public purchases has not submitted a detailed report. According to Ishkhan Zakaryan, presently they are working with the agency regarding the irregularities. “We have revealed a serious difference between the report of the Agency and the real prices of the market, which causes concern. We need new, distinct mechanisms to define the real difference between the real market and the actual declarations,” Ishkhan Zakaryan said.
