IRAN OFFERS ARMENIA OPTION FOR RELIEVING INFLATION
On May 6 Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met with the Iranian ambassador to Armenia Seyed Ali Saghayan, the press service of the government reports. According to the news release, they discussed Iranian-Armenian cooperation in various spheres, implementation of new projects along with the current projects. “The Islamic Republic of Iran supports the new president and the government you head in all the directions what were declared priorities by the new program of the government of Armenia,” said the ambassador of Iran. Assessing the level of economic relations, namely the trade of 200 million U.S. dollar between the two countries as unsatisfactory, both underlined the importance of promoting investments, relations between industries, direct contact between regions. Seyed Ali Saghayan also underlined collaboration for eliminating or relieving the consequences of inflation caused by the rise of prices on the international market, which affects especially developing countries and countries with transitional economies. He said Armenia and Iran may promote cooperation in agriculture, developing the potential and abilities of the two peoples to relieve the consequences of inflation. ARMENIAN MINISTERS WILL LEAVE FOR TEHRAN The Iranian ambassador to Armenia Seyed Ali Saghayan informed during the meeting with Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan on May 6 that soon two major international conferences will be held in Tehran on transit shipments and urban development and asked the prime minister of Armenia to guarantee the participation of the relevant Armenian ministers in these important events. Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan assured that he will instruct the ministers of transport and communication and urban planning to take part in the conferences, considering their importance for our country, the press service of the government reports.
