ARTHUR BAGHDASARYAN WAS APPOINTED SECRETARY OF SECURITY COUNCIL
The press office of the president reports that today Serge Sargsyan appointed Arthur Baghdasaryan as secretary of the National Security Council. On May 4 Serge Sargsyan affirmed the staff of the National Security Council, and the secretary of the National Security Council was instructed to present the draft regulations of the National Security Council to the President of the Republic of Armenia within a month. The National Security Council includes: 1. President of the Republic of Armenia 2. Speaker of the National Assembly 3. Prime Minister 4. Head of the Constitutional Court 5. Vice Prime Minister 6. Secretary of the National Security Council 7. Minister of Defense 8. Minister of Foreign Affairs 9. Head of the President Administration 10. Prosecutor General 11. Head of the National Security Service 12. Head of the Police 13. Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Force 14. Chair of the National Assembly Committee of Foreign Affairs 15. Chair of the National Assembly Committee of European Integration

Today in Armenian history- 0 Armenian National Media Day.
- 1877 Russian forces, led by General Loris-Melikov, occupy Ardahan (Western Armenia).
- 1892 Khreemyan Hayreek is elected Catholicos of All Armenians.
- 1912 Death of Yeprem Khan, one of the leaders of the Persian emancipation movement and unsurpassed militant of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation party. He was born in 1868.
