  April 24 is the day of memory of the victims of the Genocide in 1915. 93 years ago the government of Ottoman Turkey killed about one and a half million Armenians, hundreds of thousands of Armenians were displaced from their homeland. The heirs of the victims of the Genocide and the Armenians who narrowly escaped from it now live in Armenia and other countries of the world, forming the Armenian Diaspora, and the international recognition of the Genocide and the pursuit of the Armenian issue have become the goal of the Diaspora, and no matter whether it is good or bad, it seems to be one of the main components of the process of preservation of Armenians. From 1998 when the president changed in Armenia, the issue of recognition of the Genocide was included in the agenda of the government policy. Before that, Armenia officially did not pursue the recognition of the Genocide. A discourse is underway which is expedient, pursuit of the recognition of the Genocide or exclusion of this issue on the agenda of the state policy, because the improvement of relations with Turkey is no less important, which may be hindered by the pursuit of the recognition of the Genocide. However, the supporters of this approach do not think that the Genocide should necessarily be forgotten, both while setting up relations with Turkey and generally. However, they think it is an issue to be solved between Armenia and Turkey because they think that the world proceeds from its political interests when it mentions the issue of the Genocide. The supporters of the other point of view think that Armenia must merely use the political interests of the other states and pursue its own interests, that is the international recognition of the Genocide, and thereby push Turkey to make practical steps to improve relations with Armenia, becoming a safer neighbor for us. The supporters of the opposite view say Armenia has turned the issue of the genocide into part of its policy to please the Diaspora and thereby get financial benefits from it. The Genocide of Armenians has been recognized by about twenty countries, some through statements, others through parliament resolutions, yet some have passed laws which provide for prosecution of rejection of the Genocide of Armenians. The recognitions took place both when Armenia was not pursuing the issue officially and when the issue appeared on the agenda of the state policy, and even when Armenia had not declared independence yet. There are also states which have periodically raised the issue of recognition all through this period, approached and departed, and continue playing this game. However, the problem is not this game of the world but the probability that the issue of Genocide has become a game to play for separate groups of Armenians, including some public and political circles in Armenia. From this reality perhaps the most important question stems: leave alone the world, do all the groups and classes of Armenians want the international recognition of the Genocide and solution of this issue?
