NEW PROJECT WITH JIGARKHANYAN AND PIERRE RICHARD
Armen Arzumanyan, CEO Public Television, told about the new season on the Public Channel in a news conference on September 10. He said in 2008 the Public Channel will focus on film production. He said the company is making some films, including a French-Armenian project with Armen Jigarkhanyan and Pierre Richard. Armen Arzumanyan also said the Public Television is going to produce an Armenian show and has already written the script for 180 episodes. The show will be in the style of Latin American series, and will be shot in a few months.
The Public Channel is also planning to make a show for young viewers. Armen Arzumanyan also said the channel bought the right to show 1500 films. He said there will be more music and entertainment shows in the new season. Armen Arzumanyan said in 2008 the Public Television will try out digital broadcasting in Vanadzor to reveal the problems that may occur in replacing analogical broadcasting with digital broadcasting. The Public Television of Armenia is a member of the European Broadcasting Union, and one of the stipulations of the Union is digital broadcasting.
