ELECTIONS AUTOMATIC SYSTEM WAS TRIED OUT
On April 12, a month before the parliamentary election, the Central Electoral Commission tried out the Elections automatic system to provide the preparation and conduct of the election, automatic voting and counting of votes. The system will not only count the votes but also define the number of seats each party gets. The Central Electoral Commission guarantees the integrity and security of data. Only the persons registered with the system have access to it and can perform only the functions they are authorized to.
The Elections Automatic System was created on the 78 million drams grant of the government, the communication channels and services of Armentel, the software of Yerevan Research Institute of Mathematical Machines. Presently, 28 out of the 41 electoral districts have been connected to the system. The other 13 will get connected before May 12. The system allows quick sending of data and documents from the electoral districts to the Central Electoral Commission. During the tryout the document was mailed in 2 minutes. The system enables the CEC to view online the performance of the computer in one electoral district or another.
On the day of the voting the Central Electoral Commission will report data every three hours starting from 9 AM. The turnout information will be provided both for the electoral districts and the regions and communities. The TV companies can telecast the data of the Elections system live.
