IS KOCHARYAN WORSE?
A process is underway in Russia, and only the analysts of this country who are outside the domain of the Kremlin and their comments and analyses appear only in Internet periodicals focus on it. Meanwhile, this scale of response is not equivalent to the importance of the process that is underway. The president of the upper house of the Russian Duma Sergey Mironov has seriously undertaken creation of legal basis for Vladimir Putin to run a third term, and has already sent letters to the regional parliaments to discuss the issue and undertake a constitutional reform. In other words, Mironov put on the apron, the hat and gloves and started “kneading” the third term. Certainly, this is Russia’s internal affair, and there is no need to interfere. However, there is a reason why we cannot be indifferent towards Mironov’s talent of “cooking”, considering that the recipe of his new “dish” was approved at such a high level. And the circumstance is that the Russian-Armenian relations brought Armenia closer to Russia’s internal affairs, and if our property became their property, their affairs can be considered as our affairs.
No doubt, if Russia succeeds preparing and treating the society to Mironov’s new dish, an effort will be made to offer the same to the Armenian society or a similar thing will be prepared in Armenia, considering difference in tastes. After all, Putin is not Zeus, and if something is good for Putin, it could be good for Kocharyan as well. Is our president worse? Especially that unlike Russia he cannot create a competitive sphere for heirs, and has to retreat under the pressure of the “only heir”. Kocharyan’s efforts to find a counterbalance to Serge Sargsyan almost always fail. Aghvan Hovsepyan’s heart is in the highlands, Vardan Oskanyan is emotional, Davit Harutiunyan is mild, to put it mildly, Dashnaktsutyun is an in-law, Andranik Margaryan deceased, the opposition could be anything except for an opponent. There is nothing else Robert Kocharyan could do but to consider a third term, at least in order to frighten Serge Sargsyan.
There is no need to worry who will be kneading the dough. Mironov may go for a holiday, and arrive in Armenia and invite to roll up for “third term” cooking classes. And if he suddenly charges too much, it is not a tragedy. Armenia is a country of merry and resourceful people. Moreover, we export resourceful people to Russia and we do not need to invite resourceful people from there for such an important affair as ruling the country. We can do with the local inventive people. They are few but terribly, terribly professional. For instance, what would you say about Aaron Adibekyan? His sociological abilities have amazed the Armenian society with their accuracy, which may one day ask the Armenian Apostolic Church to declare Adibekyan a prophet. Adibekyan is a suitable candidate, in fact, because he has preliminary documents to support a third term – his surveys. He stated in a news conference on April 10 (it is notable that April 10 is the day of the second inauguration of President Kocharyan) that many people think Robert Kocharyan deserved to be a presidential candidate. These people are so many that Robert Kocharyan is the third on Adibekyan’s rating of candidates.
This third place is notable for logically Robert Kocharyan should not be on this list at all because he does not have the right to run a third term. Nevertheless, some citizens voted for Kocharyan. Well, they voted, and the sociologist recorded. The sociologist even defined these people as Robert Kocharyan’s gold electorate. With a little more of silver and bronze electorates the monumental sculpture of the third term could be placed at the Republic Square, in front of the window of the prime minister, and as soon as Serge Sargsyan opened the window to breathe fresh air, the first thing he would see would be the monument to the “third term”. After that he would never wish to breathe air, even if presently he is the first and the second on Aaron Adibekyan’s list at the same time.
