AUDIT IN SOME OFFICES IN KARABAKH
A few months before the presidential election the NKR Office of Prosecutor General audits different government agencies and state-owned institutions. NKR Prosecutor General Armen Zalinyan said in 2006 the office of prosecutor general brought charges against the head of the cadastre of the region of Martakert and the bank manager in the same region. “The director of the Artsakhkap Company was charged with misuse, forgery, as well as embezzlement,” he said.
“The head of the regional cadastre of Stepanakert Nona Avagimyan was dismissed,” said Prosecutor General Armen Zalinyan in a news conference. “The investigation revealed circumstances after which she could not remain in her position because she had made attempts to hinder the investigation,” the prosecutor general said. According to Armen Zalinyan, the audit of the State Cadastre Committee started a month ago and is not over yet. Only the audit of the Stepanakert branch has finished, and charges were brought against the head of the department and the cashier.
Armen Zalinyan said the cashier was charged with embezzlement and is under arrest. “The case involves multiple cases of embezzlement through forging official documents. By preliminary data, the sum is 360 thousand drams,” Armen Zalinyan said.
The Office of Prosecutor General is auditing the state cadastre committee, the Republican Maternity Hospital, the hospital, etc. Charges were brought against 3 doctors, Armen Zalinyan said. The prosecutor general did not explain why the audit is conducted now.
