PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION WITHOUT GIFTED WOMEN
During the meeting on March 27 the members of the Central Electoral Commission made a decision, and a number of women got a refusal. The observation of the election 2007 is meant. The “Vine” Union of Gifted Women had applied for observation of the parliamentary election. However, the CEC refused the application of the Gifted Women because in accordance with Article 29 Point 1, and Article 28 Point 1 of the Electoral Code, the bylaws of the organizations do not include democracy and protection of human rights.
The second and last item on the agenda of the meeting of the CEC was the form of certificates of the parliamentary candidates. The members of the CEC confirmed the form of the certificates of presidential candidates (8 yeas, 0 nay, 1 abstained) which are valid only in case of presenting the passport.
At the beginning of the meeting of the CEC the members observed two minutes of silence in memory of Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan.
