“KARABAKH TELECOM” GRANTED FUNDS FOR VACCINATION TO THE NKR MINISTRY OF HEALTH
- On March 17, a joint press-conference of the NKR Minister of Health Zoya Lazaryan, general manager of “Karabakh Telecom” company Ralf Eyrikian and director of the Millennium Program for Vaccination of Armenian Children Narine Hairapetian took place.
Having stressed the importance of the vaccination against measles, mumps and roseola, carried out in the republic, Zoya Lazarian told that it became possible due to the “Karabakh Telecom” company, which had granted $25000 to the NKR Ministry of Health.
At the same time the Minister noted that the cooperation with the Fund for Vaccination of Armenian Children (established in 1995 in California), which had been assisting Armenia for 5 years, providing financial means for vaccine acquiring, lasted 2 years.
In her turn, Narine Hayrapetian told that the Fund had been searching ways for rendering assistance to Nagorno Karabakh for two years, which in view of its non-recognition was deprived of international organizations’ support.
“We addressed to many donors and last year “Karabakh Telecom” responded to our request”, - Narine Hayrapetian said.
According to her, the granted funds are aimed both at acquiring vaccines and solution of a number of issues connected with informing the population of the immunization. The methodical assistance was rendered by the specialists from Armenia, who have been conducting seminars-trainings in Nagorno Karabakh since March 12. At present, more than 150 children at the age of 1-6 have been vaccinated.
“Karabakh Telecom” general manager Ralf Eyrikian urged all the organizations and institutions, which “believe in the prosperity and development of Artsakh to assist the NKR as far as possible”.
