ARMENIA DISAGREED WITH UNITED STATES
The annual human rights report of the U.S. Department of State, which was released a few days ago, contains statements on Armenia which are worrying. Namely, the report states: “Armenia continues to occupy the Azerbaijani territory of Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding Azerbaijani territories.” The reporters asked the Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanyan to comment on this statement. On March 12 Vardan Oskanyan stated in Yerevan that this part of the report is a mistake, and the Armenian government has already expressed disagreement to the U.S. government.
“The U.S. policy, approaches towards this are clear, obvious, therefore we can surely state that it is a mistake,” Vardan Oskanyan says. According to him, since the report has been released already, no changes can be made to it but the minister believes that the United States will express its standpoint at different occasions and will reassert its standpoint, and in the next report the mistake will have been corrected.
