
PRIME MINISTER SAYS HE UNDERSTANDS THE WORRIES OF U.S. PARTY
The department of information and public relations of the Armenian government reports that the board of the MCA Armenia met on March 9. The meeting was conducted by Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan. The vice president of the Millennium Challenge Corporation John Hewko was also present at the meeting, who is visiting Armenia for two days. He said hopefully the program will continue successfully.
John Hewko underlined the importance of the upcoming parliamentary election in Armenia, its compliance with international standards. He said the leadership of the corporation will follow attentively the process along with international observers. John Hewko commended the preparations for the election and emphasized that the leadership of the corporation has realistic expectations from the outcome of the election and wished good luck to Armenia to solve the problems it is facing, hoping that performance on one of the important benchmarks of the MC Armenia program will cause no more worries.
Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan stated that he understands the worry of the American party which wants satisfactory performance on all the benchmarks. In Armenia, the prime minister says, we are interested in solving the social and economic problems, and provide a political process which will enable the government implement the problems it is facing, including the MCA Armenia program, having the confidence of people. According to the prime minister of Armenia, the Armenian government and the political forces which are responsible for it have political will to make efforts in the framework of their functions to solve the abovementioned problems. Afterwards any country or organization can draw conclusions.
