REPUBLICANS FORECAST VICTORY FOR REPUBLICAN AND BARGAVACH HAYASTAN PARTIES
Republican Gagik Melikyan says he does not disbelieve all the alarms of the media. On February 21 he held a news conference and was highly skeptical about two media reports.

The second alarm was more specific. The teachers at school N 119 in Yerevan are made to join the Republican Party. “We have got no complaints, particularly from School 119. I will try to find out but I think it is not true, and you will find no teacher who would confirm it,” said Gagik Melikyan. In answer to the remark that the teachers are afraid, he said there is no need to fear the Republican Party. The Republican Party has 65 thousand members, and Gagik Melikyan says if “we made people become members, we would have 600 thousand members. It is not so difficult to recruit 400 thousand members.”
Bargavach Hayastan Party says it has 370 thousand members, did they make people join them, the reporters asked? “It is not correct to say so. They are not saying anything, and there are no complaints that someone is made to join this party. Bargavach Hayastan and the Republican Party are major political forces and they will get a lot of votes, for major political forces electoral fraud is not favorable,” Republican Gagik Melikyan says.
