WHEN BODY IS HEALTHY BUT MIND IS REPUBLICAN
- The Republican Party of Armenia, more exactly its young members took the holiday of the creation of the Armenian army to remote Alaverdi on January 26 to show that the army is a holiday which is always with you. This initiative of the young Republicans was considered so important that even some TV channels were mobilized to cover it. Meanwhile, the public learned from the reports of these TV channels about the solemn air that the young Republicans had brought to the town of Alaverdi and its people. The latter will perhaps remember for a long time the patriotic speeches on the nation, the national army, the education of a healthy generation for an effective army. By serendipity or irony of fate, a film was presented on the same day at the UN office in Yerevan about the inhabitants of the same town of Alaverdi. The film, which was about air pollution in Armenia, told about the state of environment in Alaverdi. Judging by this film, which is based on the the results of a survey, the environment in the town is highly polluted, which threatens the health of people. The authors of the film say the people of Alaverdi breath poison because the copper factory in this town does not comply with any standards of environmental protection. Meanwhile, the young Republicans who aspire to replacing the senior Republicans in the system of public administration in case the dream of prolonging their power comes true in the year of the pig, preached the tie between body and soul in this town. They made fiery speeches about a healthy geneation and an effective army in front of people who get poisoned every day, and it is not known what the generation who are born and grow up in this poisonous environment will be like. The copper factory is the only more or less stable source of income for the people of Alaverdi. And they get poisoned without voicing complaint because the economic policy of the Repubican government makes them face a difficult choice: to get poisoned to earn a living or die of hunger in a clean environment, or yet earn a living away from home. They get poisoned because the ministry of environmental protection belonging to the Republican Party does not make efforts to make the copper factory sustainable. In addition, the chair of the Council of the Republican Party “vowed” that his political party will continue to poison the people of Alaverdi and the rest of the region of Lori, since they think that mining is the future of Lori.

But what is poison compared with what the people of Lori will have to breath? What is breathing compared with what they will hear, because the pre-election period and the 15th anniversary of the national army has just started, and there is enough young vigor in the Republican Party to go to Alaverdi, drink and speak to health and come back soon to leave for other places as well, since election campain requires good health.
