IMPORTANT INVESTMENTS ARE LOST

The Diaspora is deeply worried about the problem of transparency of financial influx, investment and charity projects in Armenia, stated Oshin Keshishian September 25 at the National Press Club. Oshin Keshishian, who is the Editor-in-Chief of the Los Angeles-based Armenian Observer Weekly, says the problem of transparency has made a number of Diasporan Armenians give up the idea of making investments in Armenia. Oshin Keshishian says there are a number of successful examples when the Diasporan businessman made successful investments in Armenia and was a success but he says there are a great number of cases when people were angry with the state of the investment sphere in Armenia.
“There are a number of examples when a person, I don’t want to tell the name, does not even want to set foot in Armenia. The person lost 5 million without any reason. When you say something, he says it’s over, I will never set foot in Armenia. They are important investors who are disappointed and see no results. Or, for instance, I know a Canadian businessman. He faces thousands of problems at the customs office,” says Oshin Keshishian.
