YEREVAN WILL HAVE MORE NEW BUSES

On September 25 Deputy Mayor Slava Avanesyan presented the changes made in the sphere of transport over the past 3 months to news reporters. 80 out of 802 bus stops were included in the first stage of repair, but so far only 75 have been repaired. 121 out of 303 parking places in Yerevan are paid. Slava Ananesyan said it is foreseen to reduce their number of 275 and only 20 parkings will be paid. In two weeks 77 new Bogdan buses are arriving in Yerevan. In 2007 another 150 buses and 20 trolley-buses will be brought in. The deputy mayor of Yerevan informs that in the upcoming three years 20 trolley-buses will be imported anually.
The underground, another important transport of the city, is in a bad condition for it has not been repaired for 18 years. In order not to lose what we still have, the City Hall of Yerevan offered a proposal to the Armenian government, which costs 300 million drams. Thr proposal was turned down. Meanwhile, in 2010 a new underground station will open in the community of Ajapniak in Yerevan.
