RAFAEL TO ANSWERE YOU I WILL HAVE TO WIDEN THE SCOPE OF MY EXPLANATION.
Why don't you admit...an open and demoratic processes was in place during the electoral campaigne.EVERY BODY WAS SCREEMING AND SHOUTING AGAINST THE GOVERMENT AND THEIR DOINGS INCLUDING ARF.
LTB used this campaigne,in a very very ugly undemocratic fashion (ABUSING THE REAL MEANING OF DEMOCRACY).LTB used a language that wasn't either polite nor fit to an ex.president.... (GOBID).
Any president of any democratic country that we know of,would have resorted to the use of force in order to prevent further bloodshed, I stick and believe in my thoughts 99.9% I am certain no matter how long the opposition insists that the goverment fired first, they know deep in their mind that they are lying to save face.
Any goverment can't use force even in the worst dictatorial systems this world has known...they will be accounted for sooner or latter...
Now!we may argue that LTB didn't instruct his supporters to fire first, or fire at all...., that issue is a complete new paragraph, you say you went to armenia befor during and after the ellections, You/we can not provide unbiased evaluation about this matter no matter how close you were with some properly exposed personell...., it was a dirty job (IN THE FIRST PLACE),may be LTB himself is the victim of this dirty job.
LTB's choice of words and line of conduct resulted to this unpleasant situation,he himself is trying to cope with, and it's almost impossible. not for him only, but to all parties concenerned,to dialogue, without hurting their egoes. I believe ego should be completely discarded, for the sake of Armenia's good..
I remembre befor the ellections Mr.ILHAM of Azerbaijan, forcasting that Armenia's hard line stand will be overcome soon all by themselves, the armenians, and everything will be in line after the ellections in armenia.
In line as he has promissed his countyrmen(WHAT DOES THIS MEAN)did he meant that armenians are to capitulate to ILHAM'S demands?

    Mihran,
First, you do not explain why Sahakyan didn't give the ok to debate LTP. First a open electoral process was not implemented. LTP proxies were banned from certain Armenian villages, and this is coming from my unlce who ran LTP's campaign in Shengavit District. If your a academic you will understand that Armenia's electoral process qualifies as a 'thin democracy', meaning on paper and in theory the process was sufficient, but in reality the electoral process faced many short-comings. Any political scientist of a major institution will tell you this. Now the ARF was one of the parties that expresses its frustration right after February 19, of vote rigging. You can believe what you want to, and it doesn't make it right or wrong. I know what happened there, and my source is as credible as they get, and I'll say that the public got frustrated because of the presence of the military, and in fact it was the police officers that went beyond their scope of duty. March 1 ended in the best possible form. That day there could have been at least hundreds of deaths, but our high ranking officers (who were all strapped) refrained from firing their weapons), and if you look at the events on video you see the about 50% of the protesters are your average noisy Armenians that just came out to voice their displeasure. I have over 10 hours of video I got from LTP's party and what I realize is that (1) the movement is very unorganized (2) People there for the most part are not LTP supporters though they chant his his, they are just dissatisfied with their gov't. Also Aliev is a political moron, because this guy in the past 2 years keeps saying the most dumb and childish things, like we will have karabagh in 2008, or its only a matter of days before we invade them. He is doing this because he faces great opposition from his party and people, and the only way to survive is to be a pseudo-hardliner, so he can unite the people around him. In my mind LTP is the lesser evil of SS, but the people in Armenia must realize if want to move forward they must elect a Diasporean, like RH. If LTP was a true patriot of his country he would drop his nomination and gather all the opposition and the people around RH, and his ability to run for president. the problem with LTP is that he no longer has a clean slate, though he might argue against his critics, people in Armenia who have no conception of political theory or policy still say if LTP gets eletced he will turn our lights off, and close businesses. Its sad that Armenia has to wait until 2013 to get a rightuous president.
