PARLIAMENT MAKES A STATEMENT
- With the vote of 96 - for, 3 – against and 2 – abstaining, the Parliament passed the NA Statement on the Regulation of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Three members of “Heritage” party voted against the statement, the other members didn’t participate in the voting.
By the statement the National Assembly proposes the President of the Republic and the government:
- To give a more initiatory character to Armenian policy on the regulation of Nagorno Karabakh conflict
- Actively ensure complete information for the international community regarding Nagorno Karabakh issues, involving pan-Armenian potential, opportunities, and means for that purpose.
- In the scope of the international law, to elaborate those legal bases, which will ensure more productive cooperation between RA and NKR, which will also give opportunity to Armenia to become the guarantor of security for NKR in case of military aggression from Azerbaijan.
- The complete participation of NKR representatives, as an internationally recognized party of the conflict, in the negotiations on the settlement of Karabakh issue.
- To prepare an alternative opportunity for the international recognition of NKR independence, which will be exercised in case of the failure of the negotiations in the scope of the Minsk group.
