AZERBAIJANI SIDE TORPEDOES THE MEETING
The steps and statements of Azerbaijani officials have nothing to do with their obligation of continuing the regulation process. They are rather false demonstrative commitments.
Head of the Media Relation Department of the Foreign Ministry Tigran Balayan said, commenting on Azerbaijan’s efforts to dissolve Minsk group and the announcement made in contrast to that, according to which Azerbaijan has sent a letter to the OSCE Secretariat, to investigate the procedure of the callback or change of the Minsk group co-Chairs.
“It is also evidenced by the fact that without serious basis Azerbaijani side, torpedoed the meeting to take place between the RA President Elect and Azerbaijani President, during the NATO Summit in Bucharest. In contrast to the statement made by Mr. Azimov the letter sent to the OSCE by Azerbaijan, is directed at dissolving the Minsk group and it was sent before the voting of the bill submitted by Azerbaijan to the UN General Assembly.
We agree to the Minsk group co-Chairs and we hope that this step and the standpoint expressed by Azimov don’t express the standpoint of Azerbaijani top leadership,” T. Balayan underscored.
