- Prime Minister and presidential candidate SERGE SARGSYAN continued his pre-election campaign during the week-end.

On Saturday the Prime Minister was in the region of Berd, Tavoush marz (province), and before reaching the town of Berd, he had meetings with the inhabitants of the communities of Aygehovit, Verin Tsaghkavan and Varagavan.
Delivering a speech on the square situated in the neighborhood of the Mayor’s Office of Berd, the presidential candidate once again confirmed that he pursued a goal of having a welfare and protected Armenia in the near future, by way of implementing the program proposed. At the same time, S. Sargsyan made it clear that he couldn’t give unrealizable and false promises that our country will be a paradise in just one year’s time.
The RPA Chairman also pointed out the factors preventing our country’ progress. “Our society must have a higher appreciation of mutual love and respect and never admit spite. One can never be guided by spite. We must also be against protectionalism and willfulness. We have passed through a lot of ordeals, and the minimum we achieved was being undefeated. We still have to enshrine our victories in documents and do our best not to be forced to resist new tests.”
Expressing a belief that we will also hold victory in the current struggle, S. Sargsyan made it clear that at present one of the principal targets of the struggle is poverty. And then he called on everybody to be involved in the struggle. “We are offering a continuous and sustainable development and are against dismantling and destroying everything. I confirm that all the predetermined programs, the construction work and the activities promoting the improvement of life will continue.”
After the meeting with the inhabitants of the communities of Vazashen, Achajour, Azatamout and Ditavan, presidential candidate S. Sargsyan convened a pre-election meeting in the town of Ijevan, thus ending his visit in Tavoush marz.
On Sunday the presidential candidate continued the pre-election campaign in Kotayk marz. In the morning he meetings with the voters of the communities of Kasakh and Proshyan and in the afternoon he was already in the town of Yeghvard. He called on the citizens attending the meeting not to be despaired because of the speeches of slanderous people and make a balanced choice under any circumstances. “You have already familiarized yourselves with the goals of almost all the candidates; you have listened to their promises and speeches full of spite and bile and probably – become already bored and disappointed with their black brushes.
But I appeal to you not to be disappointed with participating in the elections. You may be disappointed with those who give false promises and the politicians who make bombastic statements. But you mustn’t refuse to vote, because the kind of country we are going to build in future depends on your vote.”
S. Sargsyan characterizes our country as a child who has been almost cured of a grave disease. “We bear responsibility for the complete recovery of the child and know the right prescription for the disease called a ‘transitional period’. And everybody knows the symptoms: bribery, ill governance, protectionalism and injustice. All the problems of our country result from ill governance and the imperfection of the state system. It happens at a time when a person who has not even governed a few people immediately becomes the governor of a small country which, however, has a population of millions. Whereas a country’s leader must be experienced, honest, and consistent. We must be able to recover all our losses and return to their homeland all the people who left the country because of corrupt governance and unemployment.
S. Sargsyan assured the thousands of voters who had gathered in the square situated nearby the Mayors’ Office of Charentsavan that they shouldn’t think about Armenia’s future with skepticism, “We cannot build a good Armenia without hope and belief, and there are all the grounds for that. It is just necessary to distinguish things in between. I am sure that you all want to live in a welfare and prosperous Armenia. And no one wishes our country to request help from others and be weak, so us we will not be respected.
Therefore, we all must unite our efforts. I will fight for the implementation of my programs, and I am asking for your vote and support. I will fight for rehabilitating all our factories from idleness and strive for building new ones. I will fight for each person to have his/her job, take part in the strengthening of the country and live in a kind of Armenia where everyone will be proud of his/her motherland. I must prove that we are not doomed to living badly; we’ll see the victory of justice on February 19. And we’ll initiate painstaking work on February 20, and every father will be convinced that he is capable of providing the welfare of his family and children.”
