MISINFORMATION
In a meeting convened by presidential candidate Arthur Baghdasaryan on February 3, Hovhannes Margaryan, representative of “Rule of Law” party, announced that the Police had stopped buses arriving from the marzes (provinces) and removed the people, to prevent them from participating in the rally.
H. Margaryan did not give any hint as to the trademark or registration number of the buses that were stopped; neither did he give the name of the sentry posts in which they were stopped or the marzes from where the “Rule of Law” supporters came from.
If there are such facts, why don’t they submit them to the law enforcement agencies so as they can take relevant actions?
The Police have announced that there are no such facts available; these are imaginary ideas.
Let’s note that during the campaign the Police continuously have to make statements refuting the so-called arguments of “Rule of Law” party. And this was one of the party’s regular statements not corresponding to the reality.
“Rule of Law” was most probably unable to ensure the expected number of participants, and is trying to account for the fact of gathering no more than 6 thousand supporters by the alleged “impediments” of the Police.
We again appeal to policemen not to get involved in political processes and not to provoke artificial tension. This is not in the interests of our society and voters.
