Today in Armenian history- 1832 Birth of Srapion Hekimian, an important figure of the Armenian theater's renaissance. He was an actor and playwright. He died in 1892.
- 1845 Takhiadyan starts to publish the "Patriot" weekly in Calculta. In 1848 it is renamed the "Patriot of Ararat". It ceased publication in 1852.
- 1991 The armed women of the "Parandzem" detachment forced the surrender of 43 Soviet Army soldiers during hostilities in Haterk (Artsakh).
