CEC MEMBERS APPROVED

The parliamentary factions have proposed their candidates for the formation of the Central Election Commission (CEC).
The candidacies of the following members were approved by their parties: Abram Baghchagoulyan (RPA), Hamlet Abrahamyan (ARFD) and Sona Sargsyan (“Rule of Law”). “Prosperous Armenia” has proposed Haroutyun Shahbazyan and “Heritage” has proposed Zoya Tadevosyan.
The Council of the Chairmen of Courts has proposed 2 candidates from the staff of court officials - Karen Poladyan and Ashot Abovyan. According to the Electoral Code, another candidate shall be appointed by the RA President. Thus, the new Central Election Commission will have 8 members; its first sitting will be convened on August 8.
The CEC Chairman will be elected during the first sitting. The right to propose candidates for chairmanship pertains to the CEC members.
