The radical powers, which participated in the parliamentary elections, pined great hopes on May 13 developments.
Extremely enthusiastic about their “fiery” meetings in the pre-election period, they were doing zealous predictions regarding the post election developments. Giving no importance to how the revolution will be named (colored, black, white) the leaders hurried to “book seats” on the barricades.
But unfortunately the leaders of “Impeachment”, “Republic” and “Nor Jamanakner” were extremely disappointed yesterday. The number of the participants in the meeting was 10 times less then it had been expected. During the last days of the campaign they used to claim that 30 thousand people usually participate in their meetings.
The revolutionary resource reduced to 3-4 thousand yesterday, whereas leader of People’s Party of Armenia Stepan Demirchyan and chairman of Social-democratic party Lyudmila Sargsyan also joint “Impeachment”, “Republic” and “Nor Jamanakner”.
To cut it short, four political powers and one union couldn’t manage to gather a proper crowd. That is why Nikol Pashinyan encouraged the participants of the meeting to be patient because “it is not easy to get rid of “Karabakh Clan” in 2-3 days.” He disappointed some participants of the meetings saying, “There will not be a rally”. He promised, “Impeachment will be the next stop”. He encouraged the participants to “ go to their neighbors and relatives, shudder them and say that we are losing our country.”
Shifting the “Stop of Impeachment” to next Friday the radicals also hope that by that time other opposition parties that failed to cross the 5% barrier will also join them, they hope that the latter ones will probably come to a decision to joint them. But they must accept certain conditions.
“ We must be ready to any self – sacrifice. Political leaders are standing here. Those who will come to this platform out of their personal ambitions will be considered as traitors. We must come here to serve, to lose, to be beaten, and humiliated. And on our sufferings people should come to power. This is our major issue.”
Up to yesterday the members of “Impeachment” considered People’s Party of Armenia to be “opposition of 5%”. But yesterday ignoring all the offenses and affronts Stepan Demirchyan was in the same platform with the radicals. “These elections offend our national dignity… We are ready to fight and we are going to continue our struggle.” S. Demirchyan announced yesterday.
Responding to the journalists he said,” If People’s Party of Armenia refuses the election returns, it is logical that we will joint all the parties that struggle against the falsifications.
What about his principle to “act constitutionally”? He said, “ To act constitutionally is not a narrow conception. We have always said that we are against bloodshed. But I must also mention that the authorities will shoulder the responsibility of all the unpredicted developments.
The speech delivered by the leader of “Nor Jamanakner” party Aram Karapetyan was passionate, as usual. Aram Karapetyan promised to struggle till he breaths his last. “Always remember that, no matter we are on the platform or arrested or in jail or murdered (God forbid), anyway we are going to fight till we breath our last. Till the moment we get rid of this power.”
Giving assessments to the election returns the radicals reached the conclusion, “What happened was a state coup d'état.” Thus we should hold repeated voting. The “legal aspect” is provided. They have “ numerous documents regarding the falsifications.”
Let’s wait and see!
