VLADIMIR KRAMNIK – LEVON ARONYAN COMPETITION STARTS
The fast chess competition between the world champion Vladimir Kramnik and the world cup-holder Levon Aronyan started with a single victory per sides. Yesterday in Yerevan National Academic Ballet and Opera Theatre after A. Spendyaryan, Chairman of Armenia’s Chess Federation Serge Sargsyan and Chairman of FIDE Kirsan Ilyumjinov declared the launch of this unprecedented competition.
They hoped that the competition would come up the expectations of millions of chess fans that are going to follow the process of the whole game by Internet. “We honor our famous grosmeisters, but meanwhile we give respect to all the great figures of the world of chess and we are glad to show hospitality to all of them.” S. Sargsyan mentioned.
During the first game V.Kramnik won with the white figures in the 45th step, during the second game A. Aronyan won in the 75th step. We should remind you that the game consisting of 6 matches will come to an end on May 6.
