Opening of the Armenian-Turkish border will contribute to establishment of peace in the South Caucasus, British LINKS NGO announced, according to "Azatutyun" radio-station.
According to the NGO's executive director Denis Samut, establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey, and opening of the border will contribute to Karabakh conflict settlement and the progress of the conflict parties to achieve their purpose as soon as possible.
Turkey cannot fully contribute to the settlement of Karabakh conflict, as it doesn't have diplomatic relations with Armenia, he mentioned.
According to Denis Samut, the Turkish initiative to create a Platform of Stability and Cooperation in the South Caucasus cannot act efficiently, as the official Turkey hasn't diplomatic relations with one of the regional countries.
Besides, according to the head of LINKS NGO, opening of the border will give Armenia an opportunity to maneuver, and will lessen the country's dependence on Russia.
