AUTOMATIC PAYMENT SYSTEM TO BE IMPLEMENTED AT YEREVAN METRO
From February 14, a new automatic system of payment will be implemented at Yerevan Metro. The new system corresponds an electronic purse. Director General of the Yerevan Metro after Karen Demirchian Paylak Yayloyan said during the briefing at the City Hall that passengers will benefit from the discount system. The passenger will be able to recharge his card at any booking office of the metro.
From February 14, passengers will be able to use both the token and card systems. Following his visit to Yerevan Metro last year President Serzh Sargsian established an interdepartmental commission, which elaborated a program of solving the urgent issues of the underground and presented it to the Government's approval. 400 million Armenian drams were allocated for the purpose.
"The implementation of the new system does not envisage raise in fees. On the contrary, it provides an opportunity of discounts," Paylak Yayloyan said, according to armradio.am.
