THE NEW HEAD OF THE PRESIDENT'S STAFF
Armenian President Serzh Sargsian signed a decree September 29 appointing Karen Karapetian head of the staff of the President of the Republic of Armenia, presidential press service reported, according to Armenpress.
Karen Karapetian was born in 1961 March 2 in the village of Gharakilisa, Kalinino region. In 1982 graduated from Yerevan Karl Marx Polytechnic Institute where he was majoring in engineering. In 1989 he graduated from High Political School of Rostov on Don getting speciality of political and economic scientist.
From 1995-1999 he became member of parliament and state-legal affairs commission. From 1999-2003 he was member of parliament and financial-credit, budget and economic affairs permanent commission.
From May 2007 he has been the head of the Armenian Republican Party's faction. He is married has three children.
