One cannot help but be stunned with the anxiety of ARF and A. Rustamian to join, support and be part of the the governing authoritarian regime. It appears they got jealous that bagtasarian succumbed to the whims of sarkisian. This is really SHAME for bagtasarian and his party and I expect sooner or later his supporters (16% of the electoral body) will pay him back with the very same way he ignored them and acted like a sheep.
Concerning the ARF, I know that this is a revolutionary, radical political party with a long and proud history and it is for this prime reason that I wonder why this party is so anxious to be part of this fascistic regime. ARF like the party of bagtasarian, campaigned against RK and SS, they took part with a different agenda and their objective was to win the elections and replace this corrupted regime. Hence, one wonders what sort of deal bagtasarian struck with RK and SS in order to join them. One other thing which is of prime essence is the fact that SS resorting to all sorts of illegal methods atrocities inclusive, won a comfortable majority (52%) both in the electoral body and in the parliament. ARF should really think seriously and ask itself why SS is being so open handed and generous to the other political parties to form a coalition government? sargysian's call was made after his special forces brutally attacked on march 1, '08 on the peaceful, unarmed and unprotected Armenians who were courageous and had the stamina to cry out and demand democracy, transparency, prospects for a better living, social security, medicare, civil and human rights, dignity to mention only few. The end result of this brutal attack was that many people were murdered and few hundreds were seriously injured, oppositions MPs were arrested with no conviction just like that, and are being ill-treated in custody.
I do not believe that ARF wants to be part of this and in a way pardon them for the despicable oppression and torture of the people of Armenia throughout their 10 years in power. ARF should despise their offer and join forces with the heroic Armenians in fact have it as a prerequisite in every aspect of its campaign, and demand an independent and impartial inquiry/thorough investigation into Armenia's deadly post-election unrest and into the arrests of innocent people who have been ill-treated in custody. If not, I sincerely believe that ARF would lose whatever leverage it still has on the people and continue its political descend in a geometric progression. Time is ripe for these coward dictators to relieve Armenia and its PEOPLE from their presence before it is too late and before they leave behind further destruction, poverty and even a national tragedy. It should be done peacefully by the consent and the struggle of the opposition parties.
