NEWEST POSITION OF GB ON 1915
A message entitled "Shame on the British Government" and addressed to "Azg", says that GB Foreign Ministry representative Lord Mallock-Brown, answering on March 4, the question of the Baroness of Landuff whether Britain recognizes the Armenian or not, stated,
"In this question the position of the Government remains unchanged: the Government accepts and realizes the irritation about the massacres of 1915-16 and recognizes them as a tragedy."
Lord Mallock also stated that the present and the previous Governments have decided that the do not possess enough certain information to qualify those events as genocide, as figured out in the 1948 UN convention.
Mallock, quoting Jeffrey Houn, said that the truth must be found out by the sides immediately engaged in the controversy. No other side must interfere the process. He said that the British Government shall continue encouraging the two sides to find ways of cooperation and find out the truth.
It should be added that on January 22, 2007, the British Deputy Foreign Minister declared at the House of Lords, "The Government does not consider the recognition of the so-called Armenian as a compulsory pre-condition for Turkey's membership in the EU".

- 1901 Birth of Kostandeen Hakobian, Scientist, Doctor and Professor of Agricultural Sciences, in Meerzeek. He got a State Award for the creation of a Kazakh species of white-headed cattle.
- 1914 Birth of Balasan (Vruyr Balasanyan), translator and writer, in Moscow, .
- 1918 Start of the Trebizond negotiations between the delegations of Turkey and the Transcaucasian Seym. The German-Turkish attack took place at the same time. The negotiation effort was in vain as the Mensheviks, led by Chkhenkely, agreed to cede to the territorial demands of Turkey.
- 1921 Start of the Red Army's extensive attack on Yerevan, which ended in its victory two weeks later.
- 1921 End of the London Conference. It made indefinite allusions to a national home for the Armenians in Western Armenia. The Turkish part rejected it later.
