PARLIAMENT CONFIRMED STATE OF EMERGENCY
Condemning the events, having taken place in Yerevan, the Armenian parliament has unanimously approved RA president's decree on imposition of a state of emergency in the country till March 20. The statement reads, in particular: "the actions of some political forces, which protested the official results of the presidential election, provoked March 1 events under the lee of legality of their actions.
Tens of people, including the country's law enforcement machine employees, suffered as a result of their malicious agitation and hatred propaganda. Their actions caused pogroms, as a result of which a notable damage has been caused to Armenia's capital. Moreover, the country's stability, national unity and image turned out to be under threat. We emphasize importance of the actions to be directed at recovery of the order in the capital, as well as at solution of the political tasks via dialogue and on the basis of RA Constitution. We consider important to respect tolerance as a basis for exclusion of the society's separation. We consider RA president's decree from March 1, 2008, on imposition of a state of emergency imperative". The emergency session of the National Assembly completed by 6:00 AM. The Parliament speaker Tigran Torosian also made a speech during the session. He said that imposition of a state of emergency was the only way for RA authorities to recover order.

That is exactly how brutal dictators feel. You are now proceeding to the next stage of your operations and that is to arrest and imprison lawfully elected members of the parliament. The use terrorism and fascism will further induce the democratic outcry of the people against your regime.
No matter what you do the clock is ticking against you. Sooner or later
Armenians will restore by peaceful means, DEMOCRACY, TRANSPARENCY BETTER PROSPECTS, PROPER SOCIAL WELFARE AND MEDICARE, CIVIL AND HUMAN RIGHTS AND MOST OF ALL DIGNITY IN THEIR LIVES. THE ARMENIANS IN THE DIASPORA AND THE FREE WORLD STANDS NEXT TO THE HEROIC AND PROUD PEOPLE OF ARMENIA.

IT IS TRUE THAT ARMENIANS WILL EVENTUALLY OVERCOME. HOWEVER YOUR EXPLANATION IS VAGUE . I DO'NT CONSIDER LTB'S STAND PEACFULL AND DEMOCRTATIC EVEN BEFORE THE SAD EVENTS OF SATURDAY... HE IS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE UNREST.HE NEVER SHOULD HAVE FOR ONE MOMENT GIVEN SPEECHES OF HATE AND SLOGANS OF INSULT.CALLING HIS OPPONENTS A BUNCH OF CRIMINALS/ALLIENS FROM ARTSAKH. Are we sure they attacked first!? In the Armenialeberty article the Azeri say Armenia attacked and blames them as a classical means of internal crisis management. The problem is: I could believe because Serja dn Robert are ready to do everything to keep power. God forbid!- Rafael
