THE YOUTH OF WORLD ARMENIAN CONGRESS MET WITH ARA GEVORGIAN
Composer, RA Honored Artist Ara Gevorgian was recently the guest of World Armenian Congress' Association of Youth Organizations (AYO).
Vice-president of World Armenian Congress (WAC) Vladimir Aghayan presented the guest with the history of the Congress attaching great importance to similar meetings organized by AYO.
"I have been devoted to my work in all my life and worked unselfishly. You do the same and I welcome you", said Ara Gevorgian.
The composer spoke of his recent record titled "Love each other". It is an appeal for peace and creative work. He worked on the project 7 years and brought together different musicians of different nations; each of them plays on his/her national instrument. According to Ara Gevorgian, the project is exclusive as different cultures and civilizations are synthesized in it.
"We are a peaceful nation - a nation that builds monasteries and schools. We have a rich culture and unique cultural heritage. We have no right to give that heritage to others", said Ara Gevorgian.
He also spoke of his concert held in Kremlin recently. During the concert, parallel with the music Armenian historic-cultural relics, masterpieces of miniature painting and Armenian alphabet were shown on big screens. After the concert many foreigners approached the composer and exclaimed, "You have a wonderful country".
From August to November Ara Gevorgian will be on tour in Sydney, Aleppo, Beirut, Athens, Dubai, Moscow, Paris, Montreal, Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco and other cities that have big Armenian communities.
The composer considers his "Adana" song one of his biggest projects that is performed by representatives of 17 nations, among them - Turkish, Persian, Jewish. On April 24, 2005, the singers arrived in Yerevan and performed "Adana" in Tsitsernakaberd Memorial dedicated to Armenian Genocide victims.
