THE MAN OF THE YEAR - 2007
In 2007 "The Man of the Year" honorary title was awarded to Gagik Tsarukian, the remarkable Armenian businessman and the leader of the "Prosperous Armenia" party. During a press conference at "Hayeli" ("Mirror") club, dedicated to the event, Mr. Tsarukian said, "No casual man has a moral right to put forward his candidature", explaining the reason he was not running for presidency.
Head of the "Hayeli" club Angela Tovmasian informed that the participants of their survey gave their votes to Gagik Tsarukian, taking into account his social and humanitarian activities - benevolence and promotion of sport development in Armenia etc.
Gagik Tsarukian mentioned that he prioritized assessments of ordinary people and added: "The nation's appreciations impose high responsibilities toward it. I have always served to my nation and will continue my commitments". The businessman shared the secrets of his success with the reporters: "My kindness and optimism help me. Without aspiration one cannot achieve anything. Tsarukian has never been jealous. One should help his relatives, friends and neighbors".
