VAZGEN MANUKIAN: IT'S NOT PROPER TO START A REVOLUTION USING DISCONTENT OF PEOPLE

On December 18, in "Hayeli" club the journalists didn't even doubt that the guest of the club Vazgen Manukian would answer the defaming article of "Haykakan jamanak" daily published on Saturday.
"The style of the article surpasses even the articles of 1937, when they wrote about the enemies of the people. It's awful that this kind of articles are being publishe", said Vazgen Manukian. "I will apply for examination. The examination will show that it's not my handwriting, but the poison will remain in the society and the elections in that poison cannot have satisfactory results"
Vazgen Manukian reminded that the same team used the same poison in 1996 - against the opposition candidate of presidency Vazgen Manukian. They had the whole money, Ministry of Domestic Affairs, local government and the criminal world but they lost. Now they use the same methods what can bring part of opposition votes to the authorities. The Chairman of National Democratic Party calls Levon Ter-Petrosian's team not to go through the way of poison.
According to him, it's a "black PR" against the candidate of presidency and it will have its answer.
Before, Vazgen Manukian had told that before the presidential elections two factors would have effect on the processes - different kinds of discontent and fear. "Anyhow, it's not proper to start a revolution using discontent of people", Vazgen Manukian is sure. "People should see that the changes will give them something new".
According to him, people will look for the image of the winner in opposition and will give him their votes. Even if the candidates don't unite, one of them will take the majority of the votes. Sometimes the authorities push a candidate forward saying that he is the winner and making him their rival - it happens today. 10 percent of the population today is seeking revenge but elections cannot be built on revenge but team, plans, and only in this case a movement for change will start. Anyhow, Vazgen Manukian doesn't exclude the possibility of the latter.
When "Azg" daily reminded that December 20-January 15 period is lost in this sense, Mr. Manukian answered that in 1996 he became the joint candidate only 15-20 days before the elections.
In a word, the situation of 2008 elections has a real possibility of change.
To the question of "Azg" daily about the foreign factor effects on the process of presidential elections, Mr. Manukian answered that according to him, direct effect on the process of the elections does not exist, it becomes more evident after the elections. "After 2007 elections it was announced that everything is OK, those evaluations influence the process... What about the finances, I haven't seen the opposition to spend big finances, on the contrary finances of the authorities are incalculable", mentioned he.
