PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY CELEBRATED ITS 85TH ANNIVERSARY
Yerevan State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovian, founded in 1922, celebrated its 85th anniversary in National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet on December 14. Well-known people of different spheres participated in the event.
According to University Rector Artush Khukasian, the event concluded all the events held in the whole year.
Today the University has 11 faculties with 49 departments instead of the five of the foundation period.
85 year-old University has its important role in our system of high education. It has founded Khachatur Abovian golden medal, an anthem and an emblem; it has got various prizes not only inside the country.
Today Yerevan State Pedagogical University has its own publishing house and publishes "Pedagogical University" magazine, 'Future Pedagogue" and also magazines of several faculties.
