NATIONAL ASSEMBLY SPEAKER: "NO ORANGE REVOLUTION POSSIBLE IN ARMENIA"
"No orange revolution is possible in Armenia, since our people see that these revolutions bring nothing good," Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Tigran Torosian said commenting on the latest opposition rally in Yerevan, during which was announced that ex-president Levon Ter-Petrosian will run for presidential chair in 2008.
Mr. Torosian said that the opposition did a lot to ensure people's attendance to the rally, but failed. The speaker said the most influential force participating in the presidential election will not change its strategy and approaches depending on candidates for president. Asked if the Republicans believe Levon Ter- Petrosian can become the key rival of the pro-governmental candidate, the Speaker replied that the people have to decide this. He also added that RPA will make a decision on nomination of a candidate before November 7. As regards the visit of Armenian Prime Minister Serge Sarkisan to the USA, the speaker called it rather efficient.
