ARA ABRAHAMIAN: "WE SHOULD COOPERATE WITH ARMENIAN AND FOREIGN YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS"
"Young people not only speak of current issues, but also offer concrete mechanisms to solve those issues", announced the President of World Armenian Congress Ara Abrahamian in a press conference after the All Armenian Youth International Conference finished. Underlining the importance of the reports and the proposals of the Conference titled "The challenges of the 21st century and the Armenian youth", Ara Abrahamian mentioned that various proposals are made during the two-day works of the Conference: the proposals will be discussed and become a concrete plan according to the declaration adopted by the Conference.
Mr. Abrahamian informed that the issue of the cooperation with the youth was also discussed with RA Prime Minister Serj Sargsian.
The President of the Congress also informed that the Youth Organization's Association would open branches in the provinces of Armenia and the youth would be involved in the projects. But the cooperation with youth organizations of Armenia and Diaspora is not enough. It's foreseen to hold an International Festival in 2009, where young people of different nations will take part.
Ara Abrahamian attached importance to the advocacy of the Armenian issues worldwide and the role of the Armenian youth in it. He expressed a wish that the Armenian youth would be involved in international organizations and become ambassadors of national interests of Armenian people in the countries they lived.
