DEMONSTRATION AGAINST ERDOGAN'S ADMINISTRATION IN IZMIR
After Ankara and Istanbul, the opponents of Turkish PM Erdoghan's "Justice and Prosperity" party organized another rally in Izmir. Dozens of thousands of people participated in the demonstration. Supporting the republican forces of Turkey, Deniz Baykal, chairman of the People's Republican Party, and Zeqi Sezer, chairman of the Left Democratic Party, were welcomed by the participants of the rally who called for them to unite.
Despite the intentions of the dozens of thousands of the rally participants, the party leaders didn't even approach to each other. According to "Milliet," the rally participants were greatly disappointed by the fact. This was conditioned by the pre-time parliamentary elections envisaged in Turkey on July 22. The matter is, that the influence of the pro-Islamic "Justice and Prosperity" party is quite big and it's likely to win the elections. While the victory will secure the another opportunity for Erdoghan to run for the president in Turkey.
