STRIVING FOR INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS
Children up to the age of 7 are to get free of charge medicine in the policlinics this year. People can get the free of charge medicine only according to doctor's receipt or the epicrisis of policlinic.
The next important news is that from April 1 started the mass registrations of people at pediatricians, therapists and family doctors. The aim of this activity is to create a digitalized base of questionnaires. From October 1 the right of free selection of a doctor will come into force. It's not obligatory for a citizen to select a doctor from the same policlinic, where he/she is registered. The financing of doctors will be done according to the quantity of the citizens that they serve. Possibly, this mechanism will make the standards and qualities in this sphere raise, because the doctors will depend on the citizens who select them. An order is established to avoid the accumulations at the well-known doctors: a doctor may have no more than 2300 clients. And what will happen to the doctors, who will not even have 1000 citizens? Armen Soghoian, the head of the department of Health and Security of Municipality, informed us, that it's not yet clarified what will be done in these cases.
What about the reconstructions and renovations of hospitals, the reconstruction of St. Mother of God medical center's maternity hospital is completed by the means of the World Bank Loan Project. Equipments of about 744 M drams are installed here, 275 M drams are used in construction. A construction has been started in St. Grigor Lusavorich maternity hospital and policlinic. Also equipments of 1M and 800 thousand dollars will be installed here. According to these measures these two hospitals will have modern and newest medical services. New projects with the World Bank will be also carried out. The third biggest medical center Kanaker-Zeytun will be reconstructed and have modern equipments in cooperation with one of the medical organizations of Berlin.

(15%) of Artsakhs territory, while Artsakh occupied 7059 sq. km. (8%) of territory considered to have traditionally been possessed by Azerbaijan.
