PRESIDENT OF ARMENIA LEAVING FOR PARIS
President Robert Kocharian is leaving on February 17 to France for a four-day official visit, reports the Presidential press center. It said in Paris Kocharian will be welcomed by his colleague Jacques Chirac and then received by Prime Minister Dominique de Vilpin, Senate President Christian Poncelet and National Assembly Chairman Jean-Louis Debres.
Robert Kocharian and his spouse are to be present at the "Charles Aznavour and Friends" concert at Paris Garniers Opera Theater which is part of the Year of Armenia in France. Mr. and Mrs. Kocharian will also visit an exhibition of prominent Russian-Armenian painter Ivan Ayvazovsky at Naval Museum, and another exhibition, entitled "The Twelve Capital Cities of Armenia". Presidents of France and Armenia will open also another exhibition in Louvres called "The Treasures of Armenia".
In Paris Kocharian will also meet with the outstanding members of the French Armenian community and then will proceed to Nice to inaugurate the Armenian Park there and to meet also with town leadership.

- 1951 Death of Nikoghayos Tigranian, composer and pianist.
- 1992 Artsakh forces control the important Azeri Turk military cross-road of Gharadakhlu.
- 2000 The remains of Armenias Hero, General Andranik are transferred to Armenia.
