AZERBAIJANI SERVICEMAN UNWILLING TO RETURN HOME
The Republican Military Prosecution of Azerbaijan affirmed statements by mass media that Eldeniz Nuriev, who was captured on December 31, 2006 crossing the Azerbaijan-Karabakh border and later returned to his homeland, has been detained and accused of treachery and espionage. Evidently, this is usual for Azerbaijan, and that is why that another Azeri soldier, who was captured by the Armenians, expressed a wish not to return to Azerbaijan but to be sent out to the USA or any European state. According to certain sources, the Azerbaijani authorities are trying to use the soldier’s parents to make him return to Azerbaijan.
