35.000 ARMENIAN TOURISTS VISIT AJARIA
On occasion of "Cilicia" sailing vessel’s arrival to Batumi Armenian ambassador to Georgia, Hrach Silvanian, met with prime minister of Ajaria Autonomous Republic, Levan Varshalomidze. Mr. Silvanian told daily Azg that the Ajarian PM said that by last weekend around 35.000 Armenian tourists spent their holiday there. By the end of September their number can grow to 45.000.
During his visit Hrach Silvanian and PM Varshalomidze touched upon the issue of opening an Armenian consulate in Batumi. The issue is on the agenda in Armenian Foreign Ministry. Mr. Varshalomidze told the ambassador that Batumi’s mayor will receive order on fencing the territory of Armenian church in the town and restoring its adjacent territory.
