EU TRIES TO BRING ARMENIA CLOSER TO EUROPE
Under the auspices of the EU, starting from August 30 to September 10 Norq orphanage will held "Armenia: New Challenges for Europe" meeting between French-speaking youth from France, Poland, Georgia and Germany.
Khorenuhi Mamanian, chairman of French-speaking people’s club of the SPFA Armenian-French charity organization, says that the foreign delegation together with Armenian young people will stay at the orphanage for 10 days where they will have chance to acquaint with Armenian culture. The young people will also repair the rooms of the orphanage and the playing ground. The guest will go sightseeing in Armenia and Artsakh.
A discussion of development in the South Caucasus featuring specialists in the Caucasian studies will be organized at the French University in Armenia.
SPFA was founded in 1991 with an aim to help people of the earthquake-hit regions. Since then the organization carries out humanitarian missions in the old people's homes, specials schools and orphanages of Armenia and Artsakh. The organization focuses on representing Armenian culture and history to Europe and organizes 3 visits to Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh a year for that purpose.
For promotion of French language the organization opens clubs for French-speaking youth where classes of French are delivered for free as well as allows the students to take part in charity projects.
