Today in Armenian history- 1889 Vardan Goloshyan and Hovhannes Agripasyan, the first combatants for Armenian emancipation, are killed near Chukh, in Van (Western Armenia).

- 1916 The Viceroy of the Caucasus orders the disbanding of the Armenian volunteer groups.
- 1958 Death of writer Zaroohee Pahree. She was born in 1880.
