PENSION IMPROVEMENTS

A satisfaction of well-maintained tenor of life composes a natural part of human’s nature, especially in elder age, when powers and energy decrease. In that connection any state tries to become a stable guarantee for its sitizens, otherwise, it will collide with a number of serious problems. Our state also signifies the problem of vital satisfaction of pensioners, which is involved in the policy of development of socio-economic system. And how is the law about pensioners valid and what changes are expected in future, we’ve asked the chief of department of pension maintenance and social insurance of NKR Ministry of Social Maintenance Vahram Arakelian to interpret. He has informed, that according to the law “About state pensions”, an accounting of pensions’ sizes is done by the resolution adopted by the law, which consists of the three components: 1. According to the government’s corresponding decision, from January 1st,2008 the size of main pension is defined to the extent of 6.800 drams, instead of the previous 4.250 drams. 2. According to the same decision of the government, the one year value of insurance work experience is defined to the extent of 395 drams, instead of the previous 230 drams. 3. Here the insurance work experience of a citizen is fixed, according to the working book. Being guided by these three components and corresponding resolutions, the size of a citizen’s monthly pension is accounted. Let’s note, that from January 1st, owing to increases, a pension has been increased by 60 per cent. The benefit given in case of pensioners’ death, has been also increased, which from January 1st compiles 170.000 drams, instead of the previous 106.250 drams. The chief of department of pension maintenance and social insurance has assured, that according to the state’s socio-economic policy, an increase of pensions’ sizes will take a periodic character. The chief of department of social assistance Samvel Israelian has given informations about other programs helping pensioners.He has noted, that in case of being invalid, the pensioners also make use of the government’s decision “About establishment of order of allocation of rehabilitation’s technical and other means” coming from the law “About social securance of NKR pensioners”.
