CONFERENCES AT THE NKR PRESIDENT
- On March 3rd a conference took place at the NKR President B.Sahakian, devoted to the problem of regular transportation by car transport of the general using. A suggestion represented by the department of production infrastructures of the NKR government’s stuff, concerning improvement of organization of transportation in the republic was presented to the President at the conference. According to the President, only owing to radical reforms, it was possible to fix a sensible progress in the shortest period of time. In this connection B.Sahakian approved the suggestion represented during the conference, simultaneously considering inadmissible biassed and unfair approaches in business of granting to corresponding organization of the sanction to realization of transportation. The NKR Prime Minister A.Harutyunian, leaders of boards of administration, as well as representatives of interested bodies participated in the conference. ---- ---- ---- The questions connected with complex actions of development of agriculture were discussed this very day during the other conference taken place at the President. Bako Sahakian noticed, that not in all branches of agriculture the desirable result was fixed. According to the head of the country, it was consequence of some phenomena, especially deterioration of weather conditions and no-purpose use of state means. Leaders of boards of regional and local self-governing bodies bore the responsibility for the created situation.The president touched importance to the necessity of close collaboration with all interested bodies, especially Ministry of Agriculture, National Statistical Service, Prosecutor’s Office for reception of an original picture of this sphere. The NKR Prime Minister A.Harutyunian, the Vice-premier A.Tsatrian, Attorney General A.Gharamian, leaders of boards of administration, as well as other officials participated in the conference. --- --- --- This very day a conference took place at the NKR President B.Sahakian, devoted to the reforms realizing in judicial system, particularly to the questions refering to the activity of Lawyers’ Chamber. According to the president there were still tasks to do in that sphere. Bako Sahakian especially emphasized, that legality should be one of the major criteria of activity of judicial bodies, as the best guarantee of that – the transparency of work of judicial bodies could serve. Leaders of judicial system and members of the Council of Lawyers’ Chamber assisted at the conference.

Today in Armenian history- 1862 Ter Harootyoonian publisheds the "Yeghbayraser" periodical until 1863, in Calcutta.
- 1873 Birth of writer Teodeek (Labchinchian) in Constantinople. He barely escaped from the Der Zor desert and lived under another name till the end of the First World War. Then he returned to his birthplace. His famous books are "Monument to April 24" and "Calendar for Everyone", which he finished in Paris.
- 1878 Birth of Zaruhi Dolukhanyan (singer). She died in 1936.
- 1920 Parade of the veterans of the defenders of Hatjin, Cilicia. Four battalions resisted Turkish aggression till the middle of October. The heroic battle of Hatjin is one of the bright pages in the history of our national struggle.
- 1924 Death of Vrooyr, actor, satirist, and founding editor of the "Hoosharar" periodical.
- 1959 Birth of Vazgen Sargsian, one of the leaders of the Artsakh War. He was Prime Minister of Armenia in June, 1999 and was assassinated in the Armenian National Assembly on 1999 10 27.
- 1991 Creation of the "Gharabagh Committee" of Russian intellectuals in Moscow. The purpose was the internationalization and just resolution of the Artsakh Problem.
- 1998 The Cypriot Parliament condemns the decision to desecrate the Makar Church (in the territories occupied by Turkey) by turning it into a hotel. The Turkish forces had devastated and pillaged it during Turkey's invasion of Cyprus in 1974.
