CIVILITAS FOUNDATION DIRECTOR REFUSES TO TESTIFY
- Salpi Ghazarian, Director of the Civilitas Foundation, was summoned on Friday to the National Security Service (NSS) but she refused to give testimony.Talking to A1+, Salpi Ghazarian said that in a statement the NSS said that checkups had been conducted in the Foundation which had revealed violations and unmet tax liabilities."I was invited as a witness but in fact I am a suspect. I cannot predict their next step," she said.
Salpi Ghazarian considers the latest developments over the Foundation to be strange, absurd and ridiculous.
"If they had suspects in relation with our activity, they could warn us through certain people and we would obey them. But to file a criminal case without warning is not only absurd but is also a form of political pressure. Our Foundation does not always in a traditional way, but at least we try to provide transparency and publicity of our work," she concluded.
