INVESTIGATOR KILLED IN CAR ACCIDENT IN GYUMRI
- A senior investigator of Armenia's Shirak marz (province) investigation department was killed in a car accident on the night of April 12.
The incident occurred at about 1.00 am when the car belonging to Rafik Muradyan (born in1989) hit lieutenant colonel Vahram Beybutyan (born in 1954) in Garegin Nzhdeh street and fled the scene. Beybutyan died on the way to hospital.
Gyumri's traffic police chased the car and found the VAZ-21013 in Koshtoyan street. the driver was taken to the police department of Shirak marz. Rafik Muradyan is put under arrest.Investigation is underway.
Beybutyan was reportedly involved in the investigation group examining the murder of Karen Yesayan, future-son-in law of Gyumri mayor's daughter.
Karen Yesayan, 27, was shot dead near Mother Armenia statue in Gyumri late on April 12.
